Design and build
Our design and build process is the complete package.
Armitage Williams can provide design and construction services to meet all your project needs. We select independent design consultants for each project, making the concept-to-completion process faster and more economical.
With practical, integrated solutions to your construction challenges, we deliver buildings that meet and exceed desired outcomes.
Environmental Sustainability
Sustainability is integral to the way we do business.
Armitage Williams is proud to be actively involved in a range of green initiatives.
Environmentally friendly construction techniques
We work sustainably by reducing carbon emissions, reusing and recycling of materials, conserving water, protecting wildlife, limiting noise pollution and using energy-efficient vehicles.
REBRI (Resource Efficiency in Building and Related Industries)
The REBRI programme is an environmental initiative by local councils. Armitage Williams led the Canterbury pilot of REBRI during the construction of Selwyn District Council’s new headquarters.
Environmentally sustainable design (ESD).
Green Star is New Zealand’s first comprehensive ESD rating system for buildings, with eight impact categories. Contact us to speak to our Green Star-accredited staff about compliance during the construction process.
Building Relationships
Before we construct buildings, we build relationships.
We are known for our enduring partnerships and friendly, family-oriented culture.
Armitage Williams has built strong trusting relationships with staff, clients and the community by:
— being reliable, capable and solutions-focused
— applying creative approaches to challenging projects
— delivering a consistently high standard of quality
— adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices
— focusing on community relations, family values and environmental care
Christchurch Club president Ben Tothill presents site manager Bruce Harrington with a silver tray to acknowledge Bruce’s and Armitage Williams’ high quality of workmanship on the club rebuild.
Health and Safety
We comply with health and safety standards across all our work sites.
Health and safety policy is at the heart of Armitage Williams, and we are committed to providing a consistently high standard of safety.
All of our site teams, including sub-contractors, are required to carry out works in strict accordance with operating and safety standards.
Our Health and Safety Policy Statement sets out our goals as well as the strategic steps we will take to meet them. Regular critiques by our in-house Health and Safety Committee ensure that our systems remain relevant to current business activity.
In partnership with Site Safe, we require our staff and subcontractors to maintain current Site Safe passports, confirming health and safety training has been undertaken.
